Of course, from the front where thebalancer, water pump & other accessories are, the crank is rotating clockwise.Standard Rotation for water pumps has always been the same clockwise direction as the crank, when viewed from the front. OEM Engines up until the 1990s came with Standard Rotation water pumps.NASCAR engine builders learned they could cool the small block Chevy race engines more evenly with a Reverse Rotation water pump that rotated counter-clockwise. Companies like Stewart Components manufactured Reverse Rotation water pumps for the small block Chevy & later the SB2. GM engineers decided to build the LS with Reverse Rotation water pumps. Not to be funny, but a Reverse Rotation water pump on a LS engine is the standard or normal rotation from the factory. But it is still considered Reverse Rotation. Thats why its easy to get confused.699'
