LOLRons race company was fortunate to get hired to do two types of oil testing years back. Dyno & track. Man did we learn a lot. The funniest was a big brand name oil with the slogan, Advanced protection against viscosity and thermal breakdown performed the poorest in the tests of viscosity and thermal breakdown. Too funny. There are lots of good oils. Some are better than others. First you need to know the pros & cons of mineral based versus synthetic oils. We saw significantly longer engine life with mineral oils, but they cant handle 300+ overheating. Quali ty synthetic oils offer the best protection from overheating, the lowest friction & heat, plus the highest power. But synthetics do NOT lubricate the bearings, pistons & rings as well as mineral based oil. Nowhere near as well as Pennsylvania based crude oil. The best?Semi-Synthetic Oils from a high quality base stock, blended with Pennsylvania mineral oil, plus the right balance of ZDDP & detergents produce the best results of long engine life & protection from 300+ overheating conditions. The best two oils with Pennsylvania grade oil:Driven GP-1 & Penngrade1 Partial Synthetic (was BradPenn). Second best oils without Pennsylvania grade oil:Renegade Synthetic Blend Race Oil, Lucas Semi-Synthetic Racing Oil & Kendall GT-1 Competition. That is our experience. Yours may differ.693'
