The 1.5 OD of the Sweet Column protrudes through the firewall using the big red oval 1.5 ID firewall bearing flange. Adjusting the steering column up or downraises or lowers the u-joint just outside the firewallaffecting the intermediate shaft length a bit. To avoid any steering bind or slop, you will need to loosen the clamp where the intermediate shaft goes through the supporting rod endand loosen & adjust the rod end heightthen lock it all down again.Method B - Places the U-joint connecting the steering column to the intermediate shaft just inside the firewall, under the dash. The 1.5 OD of the Sweet Column is completely inside the cockpit & only the 3/4 shaft protrudes through the firewall using the triangle shaped black 3/4 ID firewall bearing flange. To adjust the steering column with Method B, you do not need to loosen or adjust anything, because theu-joint is inside the cockpit & doesn't affect the intermediate shaft angle or length. 669"
