The strange looks on their faces are interesting when I tell them, I dont know. Then they ask me to just ball park it.Uhhno. Not me. This may sound funny, but I dont know what spring & sway bar rates a car needs without running calculations based on the car's geometry & weight. I could guess, but thats not how I work. There are too many variables in a setup to guess & expect it to handle optimum. But if you measure your car & I run the calculations, I can create a bad fast, high grip, neutral handling setup right out of the garage, with very little tuning to do. This technical service is called TECH-40. So, we want to make a car your building handle better, turn better, have more grip & be faster overall?Got it. Thats what I do. In fact, Ive done TECH-40 for over 800 clients. These out-of-the-box spring & sway bar rate setups Im famous for are so close, most RSRT Clients only need to adjust tire pressures, shocks & the front to rear brake bias for the car to be optimum. Occasionallywhen the setup if off a littleand it is never very farit was because I wasnt clear on the drivers goals or driving skill level. Im not magic. No magic wand. You & I have WORK TO DO. With TECH 40, you need to measure all the suspension & steering pivot points accurately. I have instructions & a forum thread to show you how. Youll need to scale the car for corner weights & get a few other key measurements. Plus, youll need to true up the lower control arm pivots. They dont mirror each other from the factory tolerances. This involves a little grinding & welding alignment washers. See photos on the page to the right. Why do you need to measure & correct the LCA bucket holes? So, the car will handle consistently left & right To increase stability under hard braking & initial corner turn in To increase gripfront grip primarilybut total grip overall To make the turn betterand carry more corner speedcomfortablyWhat about replacing the factory clip or frame? Ron designed the suspension geometry for Speedtechs new ExtReme front frame & suspension packages as well as their full chassis. The geometry & performance of these are on par with our AXT-Star & Autocross-Warrior front suspensionsand they BOLT ON! This is a good option if you want.Youll see them in the Autocross & Track Car catalogs. Another option is our Track-Warrior front frame clip & Suspension packages that weld on. With either bolt-on or weld-on front clips . since Ron designed the geometryyou do NOT need to measure your car. For Ron to work up the setup for your car with a new Speedtech clip or frameyou only need to purchase Tech Service TECH-24. You will still need to scale your car & provide Ron the corner weights & discuss your goals & usage with Ron so he can tailor the setup for you.He will work out an awesome out-of-the-box spring & sway bar rate setup for you that will provide high grip & neutral, balanced handling. What about C5-C6 Corvettes?Because the LCA cradles are within .030 on these cars, measuring the suspension points is not necessary. Ron already has these dimensions. You only need to purchase Tech Service TECH-24, scale your car & provide Ron the corner weights. Then discuss tire sizes & your goals/usage with Ron so he can tailor the setup to you.He will work out an awesome out-of-the-box spring & sway bar rate setup for you that will make your C5/C6/C7 Corvette have higher grip & neutral, balanced handling. 14"
