C-Clip axles with roller bearings have the worst brakepad knock back, because the axle, flange & wheel moves in & out 1/4"!Rear ends that utilize an axle housing flange (9F) dont move in & outmuch. But the axle flange, which is supported by a single bearing flexes with side loads. Besides the danger of the inevitable axle breakage, this flex causes brake pad knock back.Floater rear ends use floating hubs that ride on two tapered rollerbearings & on a large OD snout. The axles go through the hub & attach with a bolt-on drive plate. The hub flex is microscopic, which eliminates brake pad knock back. But the safety of nothaving a wheel come off if an axle breaks, is hard to put a price on.136'
